Thank you for stopping by the webpage for Safari Day Camp 2000! On August 11, 2000 the season ended with hugs and a ton of memories. Over the summer, we all had the chance to meet hundreds of great kids. I was the counselor of Group 7, and had the best summer of my life. In these pages you can get a glimpse of what Safari Day Camp life is like. Have fun looking around, and I hope to see all you next summer! E-mail me and let me know how your school year is going. And to the employees of Lion Country Safari, please check out this thank you page. All you hard work was appreciated.

What is Safari Day Camp?
Safari Day Camp is a summer day camp that runs for 11 weeks. Lion Country Safari, located in West Palm Beach, FL, operates the camp. Some campers stay only for a week and other anywhere from 2-11 weeks! Every day we have a focus, such as a certain animal or a part of the world. For instance, on Monkey Day we looked at monkeys--we got to make toys for the squirrel monkeys to play with. On Hoofstock Keeper Day, we learned what it is like to be a keeper by visiting the giraffes (We even got to hand feed them!) and touring the park looking at the hoofstock and what they eat. On Lion Day, we'll get to go back to the Lion Den, where they sleep at night, and also watch them as to are let out of their cages (safely in the car of course!) to get food! Over all we have a new animal everyday of the week, all summer. And that’s only half of it! Every day we go swimming, do arts and crafts, and play games. Everything relates to the day’s theme. Just ask the campers, it is a lot of fun, and hey you even make new friends. And while the summer is over, there is always next year! Hope to see you there!
