Chinchilla-- We spent some time in the ADA trailor while Pricilla ran around. We learned about her homeland in the Andies mountains, how she takes her bath and many other things. By the way, her feet are really cold when she runs on you!
Crane-- After meeting up with one of the Bird Keepers, we learned about the different type of food Cranes like to eat. (By the way that wasn't a worm, it was a mouse tail!) They also really like fish. All of use went into the crane exhibit to throw so food their way. The misquitos sure seemed to like our visit!
Tortiose-- In the Nursery, we met up with Judy who helped put together the food bowls for the 4 Aldabra Tortioses at Lion Country Safari. It was a little messy, but fun. Then Craig, the Reptile Keeper, took us to visit Redman in the walk through area. It was raining pretty hear and we all got soaked to the bone. But what is a little rain when it is so hot outside. We all fed Redman some watermellon, his favorite. But we had to watch our fingers or he might mistake them for food!
Hoofstock Keeper-- Today was the day we got to meet and greet the Giraffes! Below you'll find some cool photos. We first saw the new baby, Makulu, and then walked over to the night pen for the other giraffes. After climbing a high platform, we were given foods like carrots and oranges. Brian, a keeper, answered our questions about what they eat and how friendly they are. This was one experience none of us will EVER forget!
Asia Day-- Today we focused on one section of the world. It was our day to drive through the preserve and look at all the different animals whose homeland is Asia.
